Abstract

The paper focuses on the examination of the current state and future prospects of scientific research on digital transformations and their management. It is determined that investigations into digital transformations are currently in their early developmental stage and require further research. The process of digital transformation is identified as necessitating comprehensive efforts from different stakeholders. A proposition is put forth advocating for the establishment of specialized centres in Ukraine dedicated to the dissemination and implementation of digital innovations. Moreover, the study defines that enterprises with successful experiences in digital transformations often employ a multitude of digital tools in their operational activities. This integration of various digital instruments is demonstrated to generate a synergistic effect, spurring the overall business transformation process. An argument is established affirming that digital transformations wield a considerable and positive influence on business operational efficiency, fostering the creation of new products and services, and serving as a stimulus for economic advancement. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the scope of digital transformations is not limited to specific sectors of the economy. Rather, it is contended that companies spanning across various economic sectors can benefit from the potential of digital transformations. The effectiveness of implementing these transformations, however, is substantiated as being intricately linked to the distinct characteristics of each company. A proposition is presented regarding the significance of decreasing the digital divide for Ukrainian enterprises situated in both urban and rural locales. This can be achieved through the implementation of short-term educational programs designed to cultivate the essential competencies requisite for digital business transformations. A structured classification of factors having an influence on the efficacy of digital transformations is presented, divided into five distinct groups. Within this framework, it is ascertained that digital innovations possess the potential to yield negative externalities for stakeholders, potentially exacerbating the digital divide.
