TRENDS IN THE VOLUMES AND DIRECTIONS OF EXPORTS ACCORDING TO THE UKRAINIAN CLASSIFICATION OF GOODS FOR FOREIGN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY 01-24

Abstract

The main problems that significantly affect the development of Ukraine's agricultural sector are caused by both internal and external factors. First, the disruption of traditional foreign economic relations has led to an urgent need to diversify markets for agricultural products. Many of the countries that used to actively import Ukrainian goods have limited their economic relations with Ukraine due to the high level of risks and instability of supply chains. This forces Ukraine to look for new markets, which, in turn, requires additional financial and organisational resources to analyse markets, create new logistics routes and adapt products to the requirements of new partner countries. Secondly, the Ukrainian agricultural sector is facing a significant reduction in financial resources to support and develop agricultural enterprises. Military operations and the economic crisis have resulted in a shortage of investment and credit, making it difficult to purchase necessary inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, fuel and modern equipment. The lack of affordable financing is forcing many producers to reduce production or even suspend operations. In addition, the number of active farms is decreasing, as many of them have been destroyed or are located in areas where active hostilities are ongoing. This leads to the loss of important production capacities, especially in traditionally agricultural regions of the country. Agricultural producers also face security issues for their. The purpose of the article is to study the trends in exports of goods grouped under UKTZED 01-24, with a special focus on the analysis of changes that occurred before the conflict. The state of agricultural exports is examined in detail, the main partner countries are identified, and the directions of supply are assessed, as well as the difficulties arising in the context of war. The analysis shows a decline in agricultural exports from Ukraine and changes in the geography of foreign trade relations: the share of EU countries is growing, while the role of Asia, Africa and the Americas is declining.
