MODEL OF THE INFRASTRUCTURAL SUPPORT FOR TRANSFORMING THE COMPETITIVE POTENTIAL OF THE TOURISM INDUSTRY ENTITIES
Abstract
The article elucidates the model of infrastructural support for transforming the competitive potential of tourism industry entities. The focus of the study is on the principal approaches to providing infrastructural support for transforming the competitive potential of tourism industry entities, such as the system-, resource-, factor-, market-based, and entrepreneurial approaches and the elements of infrastructural support. The research findings argue that infrastructure support for transforming the competitive potential of tourism industry entities is implemented at the macro, meso, and micro levels. The basis of infrastructural support for the transformation of the competitive potential of the subjects of the tourism industry is the creation of tourist hubs. Basic infrastructural support involves the sphere of production of tourist services/products and the sphere of tourist service itself. The sphere of production of tourist services/products includes subjects of the tourism industry (travel agents, tour operators) that produce a tourist service/product, establishments of public catering and trade service, collective accommodation facilities (hotels, motels, boarding houses), transport companies, and leisure facilities (theaters, museums, entertainment facilities). The tourist services are provided by institutions of higher education that train specialists in the field of tourism industry), insurance companies, financial and credit and banking institutions, health care facilities, and tourist information centers. The article also considers the auxiliary infrastructural support, or the auxiliary sphere, which includes state and regional management bodies, information and communication institutions, housing and communal services, ecological structures (environmental protection), and border structures. The author's model of infrastructural support for the transformation of the competitive potential of the subjects of the tourism industry offers a comprehensive approach covering various levels and elements.
