METHODOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF INNOVATIVE ASPECTS OF CASHLESS SETTLEMENTS IN THE BANKING SECTOR IN UKRAINE
Abstract
In today's globalized world, where international trade and the circulation of goods are constantly growing, payment operations are becoming an extremely important component. Along with this, there is a need to introduce and improve cashless payments, which are becoming one of the key forms of payments not only in Ukraine, but also in the whole world. Analyzing this aspect, we also consider the definition of "cashless payments" and their functioning in the context of national experience and regulation of these operations in Ukraine. Our research covers the historical aspect of the development of cashless payments, starting from the earliest times and ending with modern electronic systems. We also analyzed the definitions provided by both Ukrainian and foreign scientists and researchers regarding this type of calculations, considering them as general concepts and principles of implementation in various aspects of life and economic systems. In particular, the regulation of cashless payments from the point of view of regulatory and legal support in Ukraine, including the legislation defining the rules of cashless transactions, the responsibility of the parties for violating these rules, and the procedures for supervising banks and payment systems in order to ensure the stability of the financial sector, has been studied. Our work also includes an analysis of the impact of innovations in the field of non-cash payments on banks' competitiveness. This is becoming relevant due to the growing role of technology companies in the provision of financial services and changing perceptions of customers regarding the use of digital technologies. We also focused on the latest forms of innovation that banks use to improve their operations and attract customers, including cashback, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and NFC technologies. Currently, banks in Ukraine and around the world are faced with the need for digital transformation to remain competitive and attract new customers, and our work helps to examine the impact of these innovations on their operations. Therefore, in the light of globalization and technological changes, consideration of the role and definition of cashless payments are becoming key aspects of the development of the financial system, and our work helps to reveal this topic in a complex and unique way.
